“A Tour to Experience the Traditions and Culinary Delights of Ogori, the City of Ducks”


In "The Town of Ducks," Ogori, the traditional Musoami duck hunting method has been practised since the Edo period. The people have long cherished and lived alongside ducks, and this tradition continues to be carefully preserved today. At Sato Besso, enjoy a unique culinary experience with duck dishes found only in this region, while learning about the history of duck hunting, discovering what makes Ogori’s ducks so delicious, and immersing yourself in the town’s rich way of life.
Highlight of this tour is Duck Roasted in a Hunting Lodge – Lunch Course.
Enjoy a relaxing lunch overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden while listening to fascinating stories about traditional duck hunting from the owner and landlady of the ryotei (traditional Japanese fine dining restaurant).

・At Nyoirinji Temple, known as the 'Frog Temple,'
enjoy the enchanting scenery while capturing unique photos
of its natural beauty and around 10,000 frog statues.
・Duck Roasted in a Hunting Lodge
・At Sho Kobo Workshop, hear stories about traditional
handcrafts and observe the weaving of wool and other
natural materials. A hands-on experience is also available.
・Enjoy herb picking at RUSH FARM before moving to Tobi Ume,
a nationally registered cultural heritage site.
Enjoy herbal tea while listening to a talk by Mr. Nagari,
the farm's representative, and explore Tobi Ume.
